First Flown in 1917, The Spad was made and operated by the royal air-force in WW1.The SPAD was a single-engine biplane fighter aircraft. In terms of its construction, it shared a similar configuration and layout to the earlier S.VII, featuring a mainly wooden structure with a fabric covering. It was however generally larger and heavier than its predecessor.
